Affordable Prosthetic Hand

Working with amputees and public health stakeholders to improve on existing low-cost options.

3D printing technology now offers a way to make prostheses at low cost. With the goal of an entirely printable prosthetic hand, Knack was developed with occupational therapist and patient collaboration.

Knack uses a modular approach with compliant finger mechanisms to improve the fabrication, fitting, and performance, while using only 32 individual parts.

Human testing supervised by Prof. Jeff Feng, arm by David Edquilang.
